About the Iowa Baby Lady

Maybe it’s a little presumptuous to call yourself The Iowa Baby Lady, but when you’re Katie Nyberg, it just makes sense! Katie started out her work back in 2010 when her “sister-in-love” Nicole found out she was pregnant with twins. She needed support, so she asked Katie to become her coach. Katie fell so wildly in love with her new role that she decided to make it her new career. Beyond providing labor support, she served as a village for new moms who needed support through the tricky newborn stage.
When Nicole passed away from cancer in 2015, Katie chose to honor her legacy by providing a memorial scholarship fund so she could help other people find their calling as a doula. Today, Katie has built up a team of experts ready to be there through the early stages of parenthood. No matter what you need, you can bet the Iowa Baby Lad(ies) will be there for you!

As Katie says on her website, she has “a passion for serving parents as they grow their baby, birth their baby, and parent their baby.” Many of the people who hire Iowa Baby Lady and her crew choose to do so throughout their pregnancies. Your doula is going to be there to help you prepare for your delivery by serving as a birth doula. She will work with you to create your birth plan, no matter what that looks like! Once your baby is born, the team can continue to provide you with support as your postpartum doula.
