For years, Pella Regional Health Center has been a staple throughout the community. The center first opened its doors in 1960 to provide specialized services for acutely ill patients. Since then, they have recognized the need for high-quality care in the community, expanding their services to cover pretty much every concern. From generalized care to emergency assistance, they will be there for you!
Services
With the Family Birthing Center, your care will start early on in your pregnancy. The providers want to make sure you can approach your delivery with total confidence. Throughout each trimester, they are going to give you all the resources you need for your perfect birth!
Your prenatal care will all be performed by one doctor. This consistent approach will give you the chance to forge a relationship so they can be your fiercest advocate once it’s time for labor. During your appointments, you will never feel as though you are being rushed to maintain a schedule. Your provider will sit down with you, answer any questions, and address your concerns. They will also work to create your perfect birth plan!
Once labor begins, you will have a large Family Birthing Center Pella suite where you can deliver in comfort (well, as much comfort as possible!). If you would like, you can use the whirlpool tub to help with contractions. Your support person will have a space to sleep at any point, plus they will have two free meals throughout your stay. Once your baby is born, the center will immediately initiate skin-to-skin. Your little one will room in with you so you can start to learn their feeding cues.
Specialty
Pella Regional Health Center provides a number of additional resources that will make your birth a little smoother! Before your labor, you will be able to sign up for their Childbirth and Baby Care Classes. The center also has lactation consultants who will check on you once your baby is born so you can have assistance with those early feedings.
