Heart of Iowa Midwifery & Birth is a midwife-operated center that specializes in home births. The center gives you a team of midwives and registered nurses, each as passionate about holistic care as the next. With this group, birth isn’t treated as some sort of medical emergency. They get that your body was designed for this process, and they want to give you the keys to have a meaningful birth you’ll want to remember for years. The practice is family-centered and invites you to welcome your children in on each appointment!
Services
Heart of Iowa Midwifery & Birth offers a full scope of care starting from the very beginning of your pregnancy. You will have a designated midwife who will be on hand to help you plan every aspect of your birth. They put trust at the center of everything they do. Your first appointment will last around an hour. During this time, your midwife is going to get to know you! They will work with you to figure out your birth plan as well as to help you understand what you should expect throughout each stage of pregnancy. After this, each appointment will last around 40 minutes. They want to make sure you have the resources you need to make the right decisions throughout your care and will constantly keep you educated on your options.
Your midwife will work with you before your due date to prepare your space for labor. During birth, they will focus on creating a warm and welcoming environment for your family. They provide birthtub rentals for those who would like the option. They will stay by your side following labor and will clean up your space before they leave.
