5 Tips To Plan The Perfect Pella High School Senior Grad Photos

Seniors

For the past 13 years, you have devoted all day every day to school. You’ve built up friendships, and you’ve made enough memories to last a lifetime. These hallways have shaped you, and now, it’s time to say your final goodbye. As a Pella senior photographer, I adore working with students to help them plan sessions that let them celebrate the end of this amazing chapter. Here are some tips for planning your Pella High School senior pics!

Everything You Need To Know For Your Pella High School Senior Graduation Photos

Pick a Location

One of the first things you need to consider is where you want your Pella High School senior session to take place. Many of my clients–especially the athletes–choose to have on-site sessions on the Pella football field. We can also walk around the campus and find the spots that will serve as the perfect backdrop. If you want to switch things up, Downtown Pella has several spots I love using for pics. And if you feel like sticking in one place, you’ll love my studio! We can mix and match locations however you’d like. It just depends on what you want to show off with your session.

Plan Your Outfits

Your outfits are probably going to be the hardest decision you make. I always recommend that my Pella High School clients go for comfort. You’re going to be moving around a ton, and it can get hard when your clothing barely lets you breathe. Also, confidence is going to go a long way. You know that outfit that you throw on to feel absolutely invincible? That is the outfit you want to bring. You can have several options, and if you want to incorporate any team uniforms, you can! Just be sure to avoid super flashy patterns or neon colors since those generally don’t photograph well.

Professional Hair, Makeup, and Nails

Booking professional hair and makeup is going to save your life! Your artists will know how to create a style that will translate flawlessly into pictures, and you will have one less thing to worry about. Guys, book a haircut about a week or two in advance so you can grow into it. Oh, and don’t neglect the nails, either! Even if you don’t book a professional mani, trim and clean them ahead of time.

Choose Props

Props are great because they let you celebrate all your Pella High School accomplishments while solving the dilemma of not knowing what to do with your hands. Need help finding ideas? Think about the things you used a lot through high school, like sports gear or band instruments. You can also use items from hobbies like a skateboard, a bow and arrow, books, or even your car!

Relax!

Last, relaxation is going to be key. I know pictures can be awkward. I’m going to be there to make sure you feel comfortable throughout. My job is to hype you up and make sure you look fantastic. If it helps, you can bring along a bestie that always puts you at ease. Just trust me. You’re going to be fine!
