When you are planning your senior photos, you need a spot that gives you a gorgeous backdrop without taking the focus away from you. This is one of the many things that makes the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates such a favorite for both students and photographers. This exceptional space gives you the chance to travel across different backgrounds without ever leaving the premises. As a Des Moines senior photographer, I have planned several photo sessions at this location. Here’s why you should consider the World Food Prize Hall for your pictures!
The original goal of the World Food Prize Hall landscaping was to incorporate the designs of different gardens from across the globe. As a result, the grounds offer diverse landscaping that you can use throughout your pictures. When you walk across the property, you will find vibrant colors from countless plant species. The grounds are exceptionally manicured, making it easy to access the various sections. I think my favorite thing about the grounds is the seclusion. While you are going to be next to busy roads, the grounds have been covered with trees and hedges that will separate you from the rest of the world, giving your pictures the feeling of being in your own personal paradise.
While the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates Gardens tends to be the most popular spot for pictures, the building itself should not be ignored! The exterior features large archways and grand staircases that you will be able to incorporate into your pictures. You can stand against the columns or sit on the steps leading into the entryway. The historic architecture is positively breathtaking, and the details will elevate your session. If you are willing to get a permit, the interior will have many spots you can use, including colorful murals and large ballrooms.
I think my favorite thing about the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates is the vibe throughout the entire building. The structure was created to honor Dr. Norman Borlaugh, a Nobel Peace Prize winner who created revolutionary agricultural techniques that would fight hunger. As a result, the building carries different reminders that speak to the academic spirit that paved the way for many. You can wander through the library and get your picture taken amidst the books. Then, step into the rotunda, where you can find exceptional examples of classic architecture. This building celebrates academic progress. Giving you the perfect atmosphere as you celebrate moving on to the next chapter of your education.
